This is a very good multitool. It's powerful and it doesn't get stuck or stall. It's pretty decent on battery consumption. It's built very sturdy. It's blade release mechanism is really satisfying and easy. I don't like that there's no front LED. It's honestly pretty necessary to see what you're cutting so I'm gonna have to compensate. All in all though, a very good tool for professional craftsman.
This the power to cut through older timber if you need the precision only an oscillating saw can provide. Remember a saw is only as good as the blade it cuts with - so consider your project and how many blades you may need!
I'm well invested in the 18v Makita platform. As tool people know cordless is about the battery and the quality of tool it is designated for. IMO Makita builds tough cordless tools with top notch batteries. Most of which are contractor or shop grade tools. I have decades of construction experience and have thru use landed on Makita for most of my cordless top contenders. This multi tool seems to hit the mark. Not their top model but fits the needs I purchased it to do. As IMO these are a niche tool and they can do things other tools cannot. So a good addition to my 18v. Stable.
How did I ever live without this tool?
